Secrets Resorts & Spas Announces Eight New Properties by 2009

Aggressive Expansion Introduces Secrets Resorts & Spas to Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and All-New Mexico Regions

PHILADELPHIA, PA – March 3, 2008 – Secrets Resorts & Spas, the luxury resort chain offering Unlimited-Luxury® to adults will expand to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, and open four additional properties in Mexico by the end of 2009. The brand is also confirmed to enter the Aruba market by 2010. The company’s aggressive plan to increase the Secrets brand portfolio by adding more than 3,000 rooms and suites in just two years was announced by Alex Zozaya, CEO and president of AMResorts, provider of sales, marketing and brand management services to Secrets, Dreams and Sunscape Resorts & Spas.
According to Zozaya, since Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun’s inception, the property has received overwhelmingly positive responses from guests and travel agents alike, contributing to the resort’s recent recognition on Conde Nast Traveler’s 2008 Gold List and Readers’ Choice Awards. Secrets Capri has also been ranked as one of the world’s top luxury resorts in viewer surveys conducted by online sites Expedia and Trip Advisor.

Mexico

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun (July 2008) will be the first new Secrets to debut. This adults-only luxury oasis is set between 500 acres of stunning unspoiled beach and lush rainforest on Mexico’s Maroma Beach, recognized four years in a row by Travel Channel as the World’s Best Beach. This all-suite extravagant resort boasts ocean views in 75% of guests’ accommodations along with expansive pools, beautifully manicured gardens, seven à la carte themed restaurants and bars serving premium brands, exquisite indoor and outdoor spa facilities, and more.

Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun (August 2008) is designed as a sensual sanctuary with a sleek, modern design to appeal to the most discerning travelers. The striking all-suite resort will be one of the most contemporary Secrets properties. Floating beds, oversized showers, Jacuzzi’s for two, private balconies and Secrets’ signature discrete room service are just a few of the indulgent features that will ensure guests have a serene and romantic retreat. Secrets Punta de Mita Resort & Spa (late 2009) will become the first Secrets property in Mexico’s beautiful Nayarit region, offering an unrivalled luxury Mexican vacation experience, edged in pristine white-sand beaches, natural islands and the turquoise Pacific. This elegant 437-room resort will boast an on-site dolphinarium and upscale shopping offerings along with all the deluxe features of a Secrets Resort & Spa. For the golf enthusiast, Secrets Punta de Mita provides guests access to a Greg Norman 18-hole golf course.

Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa (late 2009) Located in the Southern state of Oaxaca, Mexico, this resort becomes the brand’s first property in the upscale tourism destination of Huatulco. The luxurious 400 all-suite oceanfront property is situated in an unspoiled area of Mexico where the foothills of the Sierra Madre and the Pacific Ocean magnificently blend into one while overlooking Tangolunda Bay, the largest of the area’s nine dazzling bays. The resort is a brief twenty minute-drive from Huatulco International Airport and just five minutes from Tangolunda golf course. Neighboring points of interest include popular tourism destinations such as Copalita Waterfalls, La Bocana Lagoon, Rio Copalita, among others.

Dominican Republic

Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa (late 2009) will be the first Secrets-brand property in the Dominican Republic. Situated on the shore of the crystalline waters of the Bayahibe Bay, powdery white sand beaches and lush vegetation envelope the resort while 402 elegantly appointed suites and gourmet dining options entice the choosiest travelers.

Secrets Punta Cana Resort & Spa (late 2009) is strategically located on Juanillo Beach, one of the Dominican Republic’s most beautiful areas.
