All guests were returned from the shelters last night as planned. Although some of the guests had to wait for a room, they were patient and appreciative of our efforts to ensure their comfort and safety.

Staff is slowly returning to the resorts however it is challenging to maintain the very high standards that one expects from our resorts. We are offering basic service standards at the moment and doing everything in our power to make sure the guests have what they need while we get the resorts back up to par. Once we have a full contingent of staff, normal standards will, of course, return. Our priorities still remain focused on ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our guests.

Dreams Cancun: 6 rooms are out of service. Three of the beach restaurants (Seaside Grill, Oceana & Himitsu) have damaged roofs however are technically in order. All food and beverage outlets are okay except for Desires nightclub, which has a damaged window. The resort is running on the emergency generator at the moment which means air conditioning is available in the public areas.

Sunscape Puerto Aventuras will not re-open until further notice. We anticipate the resort will be closed from 30-60 days and will give you a specific time frame as soon as it is possible. Guests that were in this resort were relocated to Secrets Capri (if they are adults) and Dreams Cancun (if they are families).

Sunscape Tulum is running on the emergency generator. Full power is not expected to be restored in the region for another 3 days and we’ll keep you posted as we move forward. There is no air conditioning or telephone service at the moment and the ocean front rooms are out of service due to window damage. One restaurant is closed (there are still 4 available) due to damage to the palapa roof however there was no damage to the kitchens.
