AMResorts Opens Company’s First Training Center at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa

Hospitality Leader’s Continued Education Initiative Looks to Set Industry Standard

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 22, 2014) — AMResorts, a subsidiary of Apple Leisure Group and provider of sales, marketing and brand management services for six unique concept luxury resort brands, unveiled its new ‘AMR Training Center’. The professional development program, based at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa, will focus on cultivating the skills of company employees at the operational and executive levels.

More than 400 employees are expected to participate in this pilot program with the first course beginning in May 2014. AMResorts has partnered with the Anahuac University to develop the curriculum. The Mexico-based, award-winning institution offers the only hospitality program in the country that is a member of the World Tourism Organization.

"Our employees have been crucial in AMResorts’ consistent growth,” said Gonzalo del Peon, President of AMResorts. “This new continued education initiative, which we hope to implement in other destinations, is a significant step in sharing what we’ve learned over the last 12 years, and our continued quest to set the industry standard.”

Training will take place twice a year – May to June and September to October. Areas of study will include:

  • Advanced Management
  • Leadership for Senior Executives
  • Front Desk
  • Human Resources
  • Food & Beverage
  • Housekeeping
  • Budgets

During the Center’s official opening ceremony, Del Peon was joined by Gabriel Felip, COO of AMResorts, and Martha Elena Rojas Cardenas, Executive Coordinator of Training of Anahuac University.

The AMR Training Center opening follows recent company announcements of portfolio growth, a 23.2% revenue gain in 2013, and continued recognition as an industry leader through several accolades in multiple arenas.
